In fall, most people have to travel to see the beautiful colors. Not us. Since we’re outside all the time, we’re always seeing it. Sometimes I just look around and think, ‘this really is nature at its finest.’ The trees, the land, even deer coming out of the woods.
Recently we bought 80 acres of farmland from neighbors of ours. The farmer, who had passed away, was old friend of the family. We’ve put a lot of work into it, cleaning it up and improving the soil. We put in a waterway to keep the soil in place, and added tiling in the low spots to create more fertile land.
For some people, the fall colors are the most beautiful thing in nature. For me, I love seeing the land transform…to make it healthier and more productive is fulfilling to me. It takes time and investment, but we take pride knowing we’re helping nurture nature at its finest, for generations to come.
