The snow is falling this morning in big, fat flakes. Mother Nature sent winter early this year, and it seems sudden.
We haven’t finished tilling all of our land, so we’re hoping for a thaw. And we still have a couple hundred acres of corn to harvest, but we can do that with some snow on the ground.
Still, it was a good growing season. The crops were good, especially our soybean yield. We were able to do pretty well getting our fields fertilized to add nutrients that will help our crops grow next season. Just like you fertilize your plants and flowers.
Now is the time on the farm when we get our last i’s dotted, our last t’s crossed. It never happens according to schedule, but it always happens.
So we’ll get out the snow shovels, plow the drives, and keep on going until the work is done. Happy winter, everyone.
