One of the things we are most proud of here at Majestic Crossing Dairy is that our milk is shipped just seven miles down the road to Sartori Cheese, where it is made into award-winning artisan cheeses. Our partnership with Sartori goes back about 10 years and we have built a great relationship with the people in the company. Folks who come visit the Sartori facility often come to visit our farm. They love finding out that the milk that goes into the cheese they are buying comes from local sources. Recently, one cheese buyer from downtown Detroit who had never been on a farm came for a tour. He was amazed to see everything that goes into producing a gallon of milk.
Our milk goes into whatever cheese Sartori is making that day, whether it’s Asiago, Fontina, Parmesan, or other special cheeses. My personal favorite is the SarVecchio Parmesan, but of course I also love the BellaVitano. When it comes to our partnership with Sartori, there’s a real pride factor – people recognize the Sartori name and associate it with quality. It’s amazing how far the reach of Sartori goes – people all around the state and the country know it.

We work to maintain the purity and freshness of our milk. For that reason, milk never touches human hands.

Once leaving the cows, our milk is transferred through a stainless steel pipeline and into our refrigerated holding tanks, where is it quickly cooled to 38 degrees to preserve its freshness.
At the end of the day, our relationship with Sartori is a win-win for everybody. We win because our milk goes into a great local product that creates local jobs. Sartori wins because they are getting the freshest, highest-quality milk available. Both of us love telling our story, and now we get to tell each other’s story, too.
