Wisconsin Agricultural Education Center

Oct 20, 2016 | Dairy News

Today, most people are several generations removed from farming. Less than 2% of the population produces food for the other 98%. Many Americans don’t know where their food actually comes from or how it is produced.

Wisconsin is one of the most important states in the agriculture industry. To help people learn about where their food comes from, how it is produced and who is producing it, Wisconsin is building a state-of-the-art interactive education center.

Majestic Crossing Dairy is excited to be a part of the Wisconsin Agricultural Education Center. It is being built in Manitowoc County and right along Highway 43, just north of where we are.

The Center is a good chance for us, as dairy farmers, to tell our story as people in agriculture. It will be very innovative and interactive. The Center will educate consumers about the technology farmers use and why we use it – why it’s better for animal care and the environment. There are a lot of benefits of getting all of that information out there.

The Wisconsin Agricultural Education Center will represent all of the different aspects of agriculture in Wisconsin with eight different exhibits. One of the most exciting parts of the Center will be the birthing barn, where people will have the opportunity to see cows from nearby Grotegut farm give birth. It will be an amazing experience.

This is a project we fully believe in. We’re already looking forward to visiting in Spring 2018.
