I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – June is one of my favorite months of the year. As National Dairy Month, it is a great time to enjoy all of the dairy products that dairy farmers put their hearts and souls into making. As a dairy farmer, I celebrate dairy all year round, but especially in June.
At Majestic Crossing Dairy we are really excited to host this year’s Sheboygan County Breakfast on the Farm. We knew we would be hosting about a year ago. It is a great opportunity to feature modern agriculture, especially with our new digester. We like to show people who aren’t around farms every day how the industry is evolving and changing.
This year, Breakfast on the Farm is on Saturday, June 18 from 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. For directions and any more information you may need, visit the Sheboygan County Dairy Promotions website. You can also “like” the Sheboygan County Breakfast on the Farm Facebook page.
We’ve been getting the farm ready for Breakfast on the Farm for a few weeks – freshening things up, making sure employees are prepared and that everyone is on board. At an event that hosts thousands of people, everyone is involved and excited to show what Majestic Crossing Dairy has to offer to the industry and community.
The weather forecast for Saturday looks great – 80 degrees and sunny. This year’s Breakfast on the Farm will include a very dairy breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes and ice cream sundaes. June is the perfect time to have ice cream for breakfast.
There are activities for the whole family – a pedal tractor-pull, petting zoo, Sartori cheese (where our milk goes) tasting, a scavenger hunt, self-guided farm tours and a machinery exhibit. There will even be celebrities there, including Miss Wisconsin, Alice in Dairyland and the Sheboygan County Fairest of the Fair.
There will be 12 different education stations around the farm with all types of information about dairy farming and the dairy industry. Some of the different stations feature information from dairy nutritionists, the different machinery used on a dairy farm, how cows are milked, the agriculture and economics in Sheboygan County and much, much more.
We hope to see you at the farm on Saturday!
